Support of School and Dormitory Building Construction

 

Concept  For education, the most important is the place where children and students can come to learn and study. Better place makes them better education.

 

Way of DEFC Support 
As for school and student dormitory building construction, DEFC mainly works as the coordinator between money donors and the assigned official of Provincial or District Education Office.
The coordination work is from place selection of building, contract and inspection of construction, payment, donor trip from Japan for opening ceremony, and after care, etc.

 

So far the DEFC has worked for construction of 9 buildings. These are 4 elementary school, 3 secondary school, and 2 dormitory buildings.

1.  Nathong Village Elementary School

Reasons of DEFC Support

A monk’s eagerness, who wanted to re-open a secondary school at his temple after a serious UXO accident at his former school place. Monck students would come to his school from whole country. They should have good study ability but economically very poor.

 

Donor Budget  The support money was 10.000 (final 13,000) US$ for one floor 4 rooms building, where 200 students can study.

They had started new semester after

trans-over. But a Japanese group visited there at Jan. 2008, there were no students.

4. Student Dormitory of Namtuam Secondary School

bamboo hut around school. The village and

school be expected expand.

 

Donor Budget The support money was 14,000US$ for one floor 3 rooms dormitory

having two bed floors. One room is for

boy, another for girl (each 40 students) and for dormitory teachers.

 

The Construction Work  DEFC money was used mainly to buy materials for the building, and students, student family and villagers worked for construction.

About one half of students had lived in grass roof huts moved to the dormitory. Students come to school from long distance increased a lot.

5.  Student Dormitory of Monchau Secondary  School

student number makes a lot of small grass- bamboo hut around the school. Their living conditions are very serious.

 

Donor Budget  The support money was 15,000US$ for one floor dormitory having two bed floors, where 80 students can stay and sleep. (Another same size dormitory was made at the same time by the Provincial Government.)

The Construction Work  DEFC money was used mainly to buy materials for the building, and student family and villagers worked for construction.

Number. People of thee villages around the school have been expecting a new school building.

 

Donor Budget The support money was 50,000US$ for one building having 5 class rooms, one teacher room and one separate toilet having 2 rooms. The money donated by an international organization LIONS (5R1Z).

Reasons of DEFC Support  Luck of class rooms for increasing student number. The school place, named Sibounheuang Area is recommended by Government for moving from mountain. The villagers moved to send their children to school.

 

Donor Budget The support money was total 50,000US$ for two buildings (one is elementary, and another secondary school), each having 3 class rooms and one teacher room. The money donated by a Japanese couple.
